Arctic Love of Life

I love hearing the snow crunch beneath my footsteps,
the silence in between,
the snow drifts with gentle clouds circling off the top edge,
inhaling the crisp fresh air as it flows across my face,
the warm toes and feet nestled in moose hide boots,
the contraction and release of leg and stomach muscles,
the beaver fur that warms my head and face,
the darkness in the distance,
the peace I feel as I watch snow flakes drift to the earth in gusts of wind,
being alone for a moment and in love with everything around me,
the pace at which nature moves,
I love being alive.
